Fantastico
Paso Fino gelding
Fantastico was born and raised on Curaçao. He’s a horse with a great sense of humor (beware after the rain, he loves a fresh, green snack!) and the boss of his herd of six. So, you’re either riding him, or he is riding with you. But either way he’ll get you to Lagun and back!

Marybell
Paso Fino mare
Marybell is a very careful and cautious horse. She’ll take her time to get you safely up or down the rocky trails. She’ll hesitate to get into the water every single time, but once she’s in there, she doesn’t get out until she has been blowing bubbles! Sophia is her daughter.

Sophia
Paso Fino mare
Daughter of Marybell and born at our ranch. Irene prefers her as her lead horse and Sophia loves that, she just wants to just go and see. She is a fun ride for the more experienced riders on trail rides and yet as sweet as can be for the kids in our riding lessons.

Sueño
Paso Fino mare
She was born and raised on Bonaire. She’s is quite insecure, but usually hides that by acting mean. Once you gain her trust, she is very soft and sweet. Because of that, she only joins the trail rides ridden by Irene and she’s also doing really well with some of our experienced riders in the riding lessons.

Tango
American thoroughbred
Great for dressage, jumping and trail riding. When we go to Lagun, Tango likes to go into the water by himself. We take off the saddle and halter and he goes out for a roll in the sand and plays in the water by himself until we’re ready. If we’re lucky, we can bring him home with us ;)

Vibora
Paso Fino mare
Vibora is boarded with us and she is a part of our little herd (together with Marybell, Sophia, Sueño, Sombra and Fantastico). She also joins our riding lessons on Saturday morning. Every now and then we bring her on trail ride, because she loves the water. The second she gets in, she’ll lay down.

Sombra
Paso Fino gelding
Sombra’s the kindest horse I’ve met in 30 years, he can be very insecure, but he loves attention and will always try his best! Full of energy but very sweet and an excellent swimmer too. Unfortunately, he had an injury, but we can’t wait to get him back to Lagun!

Filly
Mini Paso Fino
When he first arrived at our ranch, he made Barend laugh out loud for a week. He’s so elegant, with his long manes and well-proportioned body, just like a horse, yet so small. When we hear him cantering around after escaping again, all we can do is smile. And catch him off course…

Mocci
Paso Fino gelding
Mocci is also boarded with us. He is young and really smart and he is great in playing soccer with his hay ball. He is always in for a challenge and if we don’t give him one, he’ll find one. Which usually involves escaping in the middle of the night and then play ‘catch me if you can’ ;)

Storm
Paso Fino gelding
Storm came from Curaçao together with Blue and Filly. He loves to learn; he’ll does whatever gets him a ‘good boy!’. He does some groundwork lessons, but isn’t ready for the big work yet, although he loudly disagrees when the others are working and he’s not ;)

Blue
Shetland pony
Blue has been together with Filly her whole life and basically adopted Storm as her son. The three of them can hardly be separated. Like any Shetland pony, she loves food, so by feeding time, we have to secure her, otherwise she’ll steal the food from the boys. She has one blue eye!

Topaz
Quarter horse gelding
Topaz is boarded with us too. He recently arrived and compared to our Paso’s, the ponies and Thoroughbred Tango he seems huge! He’s had a job as ‘a swimming horse’ too, but now he is just here at our ranch to enjoy life with his new owner. And they love to go out for swim!
Of course, all of our working horses are all healthy, well trained, well behaved and like their job!
Twice a day, everybody gets pellets from Dommelsche Watermolen horse food and dried lucerne. They have their slow feeders filled with hay both day and night, all imported from the Netherlands. Our horses drink fresh water. They all get at least 12 hours of free roaming outside there stables. We have one herd of 6 in one place. Tango en Topaz spend their night together in the arena, Mocci in the round pen. On the terrain between the ring and the round pen stays the little gang of three, Storm, Blue and Filly.
We equip the horses with an English saddle and except for Topaz, all the horses are ridden bitless, both in the arena and on the trails. Some of our horses wear hoof-boots.
We don’t use ‘Paso Fino bits’ or hackamores!
